FRANKLIN, Juanita May – age 82 of Flint, MI passed away surrounded by family, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Heartland Health Care Center – Briarwood in Flint. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 1PM-7PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the funeral home at 11AM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Paul Holland officiating. Burial will take place immediately following at Flint Memorial Park. Juanita was born on June 1, 1932 in Camp, AK to the late Ernest and Florence (Owens) Tucker. She married Edgar Franklin in 1954 in Alexander, VA and moved to Flint, MI shortly after. Juanita worked as a secretary for the FBI in Washington DC and later as a receptionist for General Optical. Juanita was a member of Swartz Creek Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and was a talented seamstress. Surviving are her children, Sheila Franklin, Keith (Susan) Franklin, Novella Franklin, and Rhonda (Todd) McKee; grandchildren, K.J., Nicholas, Zachary, and Mariah; brothers, Don (Shirley) Tucker, Gene Tucker, Ernest “Wimp” (Joyce) Tucker, and Jerry Tucker; very special sister-in-law, Betty Tucker, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Florence Tucker; husband, Edgar Franklin; brother, Waldo Tucker; and sisters, Novella Tucker, Mettie Hyde, and Laurita Irvin.
