John "Jack" Randolph Willing

Jack was born to the late William and Helen (Swiss) Willing and raised in Flint, Michigan, where he worked his way up, then successfully lead the third generation of Willing Glass for decades. His architectural glass is ubiquitous in businesses across Genesee County to this day, and churches throughout the Midwest bear his mark on their stained-glass windows.

He was an avid fisherman, world traveler, and an expert Euchre player. An extraordinary artisan, Jack filled the family home with dozens of his creations in metal, wood, and glass -- among them wind chimes, furniture, Tiffany lamps, and autobiographical stained glass panels telling stories of his life, his family, and the natural world around him.

Jack's life was devoted to his Catholic faith and his family. He was married to the love of his life, Beverly for 66 years and they raised four children Debra Willing-Tucker (John), Michael Willing, Denise Willing-Booher (Robert) and Robert Willing (Michelle). He was blessed and grateful to be a grandfather to Zachary, Cara, Bobbie, Chad, Matthew, Elizabeth, and Jonah and 4 great grandchildren - Noah, Elliana, Scottie, and Alden.

He was very close with his family, he was always ready to go to a grandchild's performance, soccer game or take them on a boat ride on his favorite spot in the world - Torch Lake. He was there to lend a hand especially with the first new house projects for both his children and grandchildren teaching them life lessons along the way. He enjoyed taking daily walks with his children until the end of his life.

He goes now to join his beloved wife, Beverly, and his son Michael in eternal rest. He is dearly loved, and he will be dearly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide Street, Fenton, Michigan 48430 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends/family at 10:00 am until the service begins.
