He was born on March 13, 1968 to Steve Edward Baker II and Amelia Lucille Baker in Lafayette, Indiana. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Supervision from Purdue University and went on to a successful career with the Chrysler Corporation.
John was an avid collector of model cars and airplanes (both miniature scale and full size). He loved to play the drums, he idolized the band, Kiss, and he adored all dogs, especially Beagles.
Of all of John’s achievements, he was the most proud of his twin sons, Luke and Noah. He loved being a part of their lives, from playing video games to family trips, as well as being involved in their schooling and sporting activities.
John is survived by his sons, Luke and Noah Baker; his co-parent, Lisa Baker Jaworski; his brother, Steven (Leslie) Edward Baker III and their children, Liam and Arwen Baker; and by his beloved beagle, Peanut. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beagles, Rhyme and Reason, Romeo and Roxie.
As a two-time cancer survivor, John worked hard to live a good life.
To honor John’s love of animals, the family wishes to have donations made to the Midwest Beagle Rescue Education and Welfare, Inc (BREW),a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to helping Beagles find homes. Please see https://gotbeagles.org/get-involved/donate/ for information on how to donate or to adopt a Beagle of your own!
