James Cocke

James Esmond Cocke age 63 of Burton, Michigan went home to be with his Lord at Hurley Medical Center December 28, 2022. James was born on November 9, 1959 in Flint, Michigan to the late Reverend Raymond and Claudine Cocke.

James was a likeable person. There was not a person that didn't enjoy his friendship and a good time with him. He loved to hunt and fish for trout in Charlevoix, watch his beloved Red Wings and Nascar, attend Rock and Roll concerts and play his guitar. He also enjoyed gardening. James was also a charter member of Shawn Baptist Church and the ground's keeper for many years.

James is survived by his children: Timothy Cocke, Dominic Cocke, and Alexis Lawson; and siblings: Daniel (Carolyn) Cocke, and Ruth (Dennis) Liquia, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Reverend Raymond and Claudine (Stump) Cocke, and his brother, Douglas E Cocke.

Upon his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate his life will be held January 21, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Shawn Baptist Church, 2493 N Genesee Rd, Burton, Michigan 48509. A funeral luncheon will be held immediately following.
