Gregory Grant Gildner of Grand Blanc, Michigan passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, at the age of 76. After several months of battling Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, Gregory died peacefully with his beloved wife, Janet by his side. Greg was born in Burton on May 31, 1945, to father, Theodore Gregory Gildner and mother, Jean Helen Schostak. The youngest of three siblings, Greg started working with his father in his home construction and remodeling. He enjoyed teaching these skills to his son and grandsons. His work ethic and desire to take care of his family was his driving force.
Greg loved to sail and enjoyed many summers on the Great Lakes. He took pleasure in sharing his love of sailing with family and friends who now treasure fond memories spent on his boat, Hennepin. Another one of his passions was a good book. Greg loved to read and spent time volunteering to read to school-age kids. He also enjoyed being a lector for Masses at Holy Family Catholic church.
Greg met the love of his life Janet Jane Kulick at Holy Redeemer High School. They married in 1965.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Gloria Jean Johnson. He is survived by his wife Janet Jane Gildner; children Grant Theodore Gildner and Jennifer Christine Goscicki (Robert John); grandchildren Alec Gregory Gildner, Brent Theodore Gildner, Robert John Goscicki II and William Gregory Goscicki and brother Gary Gildner (Michele). Godmother Rita Garbulinski, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Greg's visitation is planned for Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 9am to 10am at Holy Family Catholic Church located at 11804 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan. All are invited to attend. The funeral mass will follow immediately at 10am.
