I was shocked and saddened to learn of your dads death.  For more years than I can remember we chatted when I went by his house.  He was always out and loved to visit.  He will be greatly missed.

To the Family of Gerald Wietecha, it was with great sorrow to hear of the passing of "Mr. Tish". Oh the memories of those days I was able to share with the family back in Grand Blanc. He had a great love of life and family and treated everyone the same. Although our paths haven't crossed lately we always exchanged Christmas cards and stayed in touch.I feel the warmth of his smile and laughter as I write this farewell note. May he rest in peace as he joins the love of his life Barb in Heaven. May God Bless!

Paul and family, So sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. I too have great memories...the smell of his pipe, trying Pepsi flavors before they hit the shelves and his sense of humor. Your parents always made me feel welcome and I am comforted that they are now back together again. For me, your house was always full of laughter, so may your sadness be brief and the laughter resume. God bless you all.

I have many fond memories of  "Mr.Tish" .First as a young neighbor  kid  what more could you ask for than all the free Pepsi you could drink and every flavor. The smell of cherry tobacco and. Jerry in his lazy boy watching the Tigers. Driving Paul and I to school and taking us to Flint Generals ,Tigers and MSU football games. Watching the Tigers clinch the World Series in 84 with with Mr & Mrs Tish before heading back to MSU. Mr Tish loved sports and Notre Dame he also loved Grand. Blanc Football and never missed a game when the boys played. Great guy and neighbor. Except when Jerry came over to officially end my Open House Party in 84 at about 2 in the morning. I have nothing but great memories of growing up on Boutell Dr.with the Wietechas so tonight I will raise a glass of rum and Pepsi and toast "Mr.Tish".  R.I.P

UncleJerry shared time, stories and laughter with me. As a teenager, he would take me on his boat with Uncle George for fun rides on Lake St. Clair as well as picnics and water-skiing.  As an adult, we would root for Michigan State football, unless they were playing Notre Dame. I will miss him. And I will miss seeing his sons at the funeral to give my condolences; I am in East Grand Rapids today and heading to Illinois for the weekend to celebrate Confirmation with two grandkids. 
Uncle Jerry was proud of his family and always ready to share their successes with me. I will miss his laughter, but now he can smile again with Aunt Barb.

Uncle Jerry's Family:   I am so sorry for your loss, My thoughts and prayers are will all of you as you lay to rest your parent.  I know in my heart and mind that he is at peace now and enjoying his reunion with his wife Aunt Barbara. Working with Jerry for several years early in my career, he provided a tremendous amount of sensible advice about dealing with life. He taught me how important it was to treat people with respect and consideration. I never ceased to be impressed with his wonderful relationship with Barb and the boys. Jerry was a wonderful person who shared his intelligence with many people.
