Gene Autry Dorris

Gene peacefully passed and quietly returned home to his Lord and Savior on March 3, 2023. He was born in Wynne, Arkansas and grew up in Idlewild, Michigan.

He retired from General Motors - Flint Truck Assembly as a supervisor. He had a passion for the outdoors, which included fishing, hunting, gardening and boating. He had a talent for grilling. He enjoyed entertaining friends and family and loved to PARTY! Everyone he came across loved to be around him. He was called the favorite uncle.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Kevin, Yvonne, and Shira; sister, Marie Long; along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Burnett; mother, Hellon; brothers: Lloyd, Roosevelt, Morledge, Robert (RZ), and Homer; sisters: Ernestine, Flora, Miley, Penny, and Mildred.
