She was a second-generation immigrant from Hungary. Elvira joined the Lord on Saturday December 10, 2022 in the comfort of her own home. Her youngest son Peter Hyatt devoted his time to care for her so she could stay in her home during her last years of her life. Elvira is survived by her three living children; Susan Newman (Hyatt), Jack Hyatt, and Peter Hyatt, as well as her 12 grandchildren. She was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren. Elvira will be reunited with her late husband Jack D. Hyatt (1931-1992), her son Mark D. Hyatt (1965-2005), granddaughter Dyanna R. Newman (1985-2020), her brother Charles Orbon and parents Peter and Susan Orbon.
Elvira trained at St. Joseph Hospital where she obtained her diploma in Nursing. Later she spent 50 years working at Hurley Hospital devoting selfless hours as an RN. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother during her lifetime. She will be immensely missed by many who got the joy of experiencing her loving, caring and charitable soul. Funeral Services will be held at Brown Funeral Home 1480 E Hill Rd, Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Visitation for friends and family will begin at 10am with the funeral to follow at 1pm. Donations can be made to Burton Memorial library, where Elvira fed her love for reading.
