SKINDZIER, Dorothy I. – Age 82, of Flint, died Monday, March 7, 2011. Mrs. Skindzier was born in Flint on May 11, 1928, the daughter of the late John and Julia Kielian. Dorothy was a graduate from All Saints High School Class of 1946. She enjoyed painting ceramics, crafts and crocheting treasures for her family. Also, she loved to read, take trips with her husband to Tawas and Mt. Pleasant, but she most enjoyed spending time with family. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker and the twinkle in her eyes expressed her love. Her strength and determination was an inspiration to all who knew her. Dorothy is survived by, Children, Pat (Rick) Schenk, Dan (Kum Sun) Skindzier, Cindy (Gary) Lehr, Alan Skindzier, Dennis Skindzier and Kathleen (Scott) Morris; Grandchildren, Michele (Rich) Schwarz, Tina (Chad) Saweikis, Laura (Jay) Contreras, Crystal (Randy) Shimmons, Derek Lehr, Ashley (Craig) Gagne, Jennifer Pierson, Shane Pierson, Joshua Pierson, Brittany Skindzier, Icee Pierson, Trisha Millette, Christopher Skindzier, Bethany Morris and Christian Morris; Great – grandchildren, Tyler, Josiah, Caleb, Layne, Logan, Dominick and Mercedes; Brother, John (Vivian) Kielian. Preceded in death by, Husband, Leonard J. Skindzier; Parents; Brother, Edward Kielian and Sisters, Lillian Hubecka and Florence Worges. Special thanks to all the caregivers at Homewood Village. Friends may visit the family Thursday 2-8 PM at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Vigil Service Thursday 7 PM. In state Thursday 9 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2500 N.
