He is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Gayle Ann Hyde Novak; his twin sister Gayle Novak VanPatten; brother, David Novak; as well as his 3 daughters and 3 son in-laws, 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 1 expected in July.
Don was born to Theodore Novak and Harriett Bethany Novak August 16, 1944 in Flint, MI. He grew up with 4 older brothers and his twin sister. He graduated from Mt Morris Highschool in 1962 and obtained a Business degree from Western Michigan University in 1966. He taught for many years at the Genesee County skill center and opened his own business in 1973 Don Novak's Collision Shop which later became the present day Mr Front End Inc. in Burton, MI. Even though Don never had the opportunity to serve, he was a patriot and avid supporter of the US armed forces.
Along with his skills in the automotive industry he was also a licensed and experienced instrument pilot, a licensed boat skipper, a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the ELks Club and one of the most skilled handymen one will come across.
A Memorial Service will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Hill Rd in Grand Blanc, MI at 11am on Friday May 19, 2023.
