Dr. Donald R. Kennedy

KENNEDY, Donald R. – of Grand Blanc, age 90, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Following his wishes cremation has taken place. Donald was born January 1924 in Rehobeth, Massachusetts. He graduated from Flint Central High School, Albion College and the Kansas City College of Osteopathy. He also had served in the U.S. Army in England and Germany. Dr. Kennedy was a family physician for 30 years in Flint, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce and by his brother Arthur. Surviving are: son, Eric (Connie) Kennedy; daughter, Valerie (Dennis) Weaver; and grandchildren, Marc, Amy, and Ryan. Dr. Kennedy enjoyed visits to Cape Cod, Belfast, Maine and Burt Lake, Michigan. He was a Mason and had been active in the Shriners where he served as music director for the Oriental Band. He also was a Jester. Dr. Kennedy wanted his ashes spread in various locations that he loved in the northeastern United States where private family services will be held.
