David Alan Beckley, 44, of Flushing, died September 17, 2020. He was born July 27, 1976 in Flint, the son of Carrie Tourgee and David Lloyd. Dave was a Davison High School graduate and a long time truck driver. He was a fabulous husband, the greatest dad ever, loyal son, protective brother, awesome friend and animal lover.
Dave was a larger than life man known for his huge heart and deadpan humor. He had the patience of a saint. He always told you the truth even when it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. He never broke a promise and his hold you tight bear hugs that made everything safe & warm were beyond compare. He was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important - family and fishing.
He despised liars, dumb drivers, stupid people and tomatoes (but loved ketchup). He preferred a causal wardrobe. He loved to make people laugh, taking his wife on long drives exploring back roads and out of the way restaurants, spending time with his kids doing whatever they wanted, fishing on any type of water with the people he loved the most, big 4x4 trucks, camping, hunting that elusive big buck, chasing fire trucks, planes especially jets, and fireworks. He was a bit of a pyromaniac and loved to have the biggest bonfires, burning anything and everything to make it bigger.
Dave was the best husband, dad, son, brother, friend, provider, comic relief, cook, chauffeur, fisherman, hunter, fire maker, lawn mower, land or water tour guide, and almost always started a story with
“What had happened was...... ”.
He leaves behind a large family that he was very proud of, the love his life and wife, Charlet Beckley; 5 awesome children: Brianna Beckley, Jacob Kneale, Dakota, Kira, & Kayla Boxell; his loving parents: Carrie (Mum) & Sean (Pops) Tourgee, David (Dad) & Wendy Lloyd (evil step-mother); 3 of the silliest of sisters:Sarah (Pat) Beckley, Emily (Gary) Erway, & Jennifer (Matt) Tourgee; Grandmother Beverly Jackson; 2 very special nephews: Joshua Rouse & Oliver (Ode) Erway; best friend and brother, Chad & Amy (Sunshine) Guest; 2 dogs: Chevy & Wienie, 1 cat Babies; Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, special friends & coworkers.
Following his wishes his family will be holding a private immediate family only service.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion, 4314 W. Carpenter Rd., Flint, Michigan 48504, on Saturday October 3rd, 2020 at 2:00 pm.
