BATTISTE, Carol Irene (Wallace) age 65, wife, mother, waitress, and friend passed away peacefully in her home onFebruary 18, 2016in Grand Blanc, MI. While it feels she was taken too soon, there ispeace in knowing God's water goblets and wine glasses will always be full with her presence in heaven.
Carolwas born a server and helper as she came into this world in Saginaw, MI to Joseph and Dorothy Wallaceon October 10, 1950. She went to high school in Flint at SouthwesternHigh School and graduated in 1968. She was an active and proud member of her graduating class reunion committee.

Carolis survived by her husband and partner of 40 years, Lawrence E. Battiste Sr., son Lawrence E. (April) Battiste Jr, daughter Christine (Tom) O'Brien; two grandchildren Jonathan and Riley Battiste; and sister Michelle (Mark) Kelly.
Carol spent her adult life working and serving food and beverages to all that were hungry and thirsty. Waitressing and serving was not just her vocation, it was her way of life. You could always count on being served with a smiling face and a hug. She would spend her "non-work" hours also serving and spreading joy. She liked to stay busy with thrift shopping and finding antiques and gems in the least likely places.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests everyone to performan altruistic act of kindness for someone else - a family member, friend, co-worker or even someone you don't know. Spread the joy of serving, giving and love that Carol brought to all of us or the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
