Carmelita June Parker

Dolly graduated from Flint Central High School in 1947. She worked as a lab technician at Flint Osteopathic Hospital, then worked at AC Spark Plug.

In 1952, she married Robert Lee Parker. They had two children: Michael Robert Parker and Kimberly Monteen Parker. In 1969, they moved into their dream house that her husband built and made many memories during their 64 years of marriage until his passing in 2017, including traveling frequently to Canada, Florida, and Northern Michigan. Mackinaw City was one of Dolly’s favorite places. They also traveled to many other states to watch their son race motorcycles.

They were blessed with three grandchildren: Fallon Renee Parker in 1982, Jacob Parker Winter in 2002, and Sadie Noelle Winter in 2008.

Dolly loved listening and dancing to many kinds of music, and her favorite was swing. Her favorite summertime activity was attending the outdoor Swartz Creek Fine Arts concerts with her family. She also played piano and was her grandson Jake’s first piano teacher when he was just 5 years old.

In 2017, Dolly attended her 70th class reunion, the last reunion of her class, escorted by Jake.

Dolly’s family and friends feel deeply blessed by the love she showed each of them and will remember her for her strong spirit and tender heart.

A funeral visitation for Carmelita will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hill Funeral Home - 11723 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439. A funeral service will occur Monday, June 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior at Hill Funeral Home.
