Betty Jane Schmier

SCHMIER, Betty Jane – age 77, of Beebe, AR, formerly of Flint, MI passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Beebe, AR. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 10AM-8PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10AM on Friday, January 23, 2015. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Betty was born in Flint, MI on July 13, 1937 to Ralph and Lucy (Shelby) Clevenhagen. She grew up in Burton. Betty also attended Bendle High School and graduated from here in 1955. She worked for over 20 years for Dr. John Block. After her career there, she went on to work as a caregiver for Alzheimer’s patients. Betty loved her cats and dogs dearly. She was also know to tinker around in her yard and loved sunbathing in her younger years. Surviving are her children, Kim (Joseph) Maldaner, Gary Schmier, John Schmier; grandson’, Darryl Schmier; 2 great-grandchildren, Caleb Baird and Taneo Schmier; brothers, Ray (Collette) Clevenhagen, Jim (Phyllis) Clevenhagen; sisters, Delores Clifford, Loretta Stump, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Violet Rummler. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
