Adam was called Home to be with the Lord and be reunited with his wife Rita on January 31st 2023. He was born in Flint, MI on October 3rd 1944 to Maria (Martinez) and Emeterio Garza. In August of 1966, he married Rita Alfaro and were married almost 50 years before she preceded him in death. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church. Adam retired from General Motors after 38 years of service. Adam was a social butterfly and made friends everywhere he went. In his younger years he enjoyed taking his wife dancing, BBQ-ing, fishing, and hunting. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with family, friends, grandchildren and sitting on his porch relaxing.
Adam was preceded in death by his parents Maria and Emeterio Garza, wife Rita, daughter Theresa, great grandson Nyko; siblings Gilberto, Pablo, Reynaldo, Ricardo, and his other half/ identical twin brother Abel.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings Jane Thompkins, Israel Garza, LuzMary (Cornelio) Campa; children Mary Alice Garza, Christina (Mitch) Steffey, Armando Garza, Andrea (Ruben) Vega; grandchildren Santos (Amy) Garza, Josh Kidd, Yolanda Lewis, Jessica Steffey, Andres Garza, Marcos Garza and Viviana Vega; Great grandchildren Gabbrielle Parker, Luiz, Reina, Miguel and Ramona.
Extended family includes Mrs. Bullard, Lisa Reed & family, Kimberly Shonebeck & family Martha & Bob Fisher & family and Lalo Gurrola. And a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to his sister in law Elida Garza for companionship and comfort.
A visitation for Adam will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023, and Monday, February 6, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home - 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI. There will also be a Rosary Service on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 5:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home. A funeral mass for Adam will occur on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church-2316 Coldwater Road, Flint, MI, with a one hour of visitation prior. Following the funeral mass, an interment with military honors will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint, MI.
