Theresa Ann Heacock, 77, of Clermont Florida, passed away on March 17, 2014. Born in Bronx, NY she was the eldest of two children born to Bernadette and Anthony Del Vecchio. She grew up in Manhattan, NY and later moved to Connecticut, where she raised her family. She moved to Clermont in 1999 and has called Florida her home since 1986.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas C. Heacock, Son, Nils A Lundgren and his wife Cynthia, Daughter, Holly H. Nice and her husband Ted, seven grandchildren and five great grand children. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Mudget, and her brother, Anthony Del Vecchio.
Terry worked as an Administrative Assistant in Aerospace Engineering Design for Perkin-Elmer in Connecticut. She was involved in the Hubble-Space Telescope program for 12 years and other projects that also included a Cold War space surveillance program. She retired in 1992.
Terry and Doug were married in 1977. They worked together for over 20 years. Terry enjoyed spending her free time sailing aboard their Schooner, Theresina. She was passionate about cooking for her family and friends. In the last 15 years she found a love for painting landscapes, many of which were inspired by her travel and sailing experiences. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Clermont, where she volunteered for various activities.
Services for Theresa will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd., Gotha, Florida on Friday, March 21, 2014. Viewing will be held from 9-10am, followed by memorial services.
