Thao, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 2, 2023. She was born on September 27, 1945, in Hue, Vietnam, to parents Vien Trinh and Le Thi Do. Thao was a woman of remarkable character and had an indomitable spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.
In March 1969, Thao entered into marriage with Hung Mau Nguyen embarking on a lifelong partnership filled with love, devotion, and shared dreams. In January 1980, she, along with her husband and four children, came to the United States as Vietnam War refugees, hoping for a new beginning and embracing new opportunities. While her husband pursued his studies, Thao worked various jobs to help support her family.
Thao’s talents were boundless. She possessed a captivating voice that could lift the spirits of all those who had the pleasure of hearing her sing. Her culinary skills were exquisite, and she delighted in creating dishes that brought joy to her family and friends. Thao’s kitchen was a place of warmth, love, and countless memories shared over her meals.
Not only was Thao a source of strength and love within her own family, but she also dedicated herself to spreading that love to her community, especially at Long Van Buddhist Temple, where she tirelessly devoted her time and energy to helping others, exemplifying the true spirit of compassion and generosity.
Thao found solace and guidance in her Buddhist faith, embracing its teachings and applying them to her daily life. She was a faithful practitioner, drawing inspiration from the teachings of compassion, mindfulness, and inner peace.
Beyond her remarkable talents and charitable nature, Thao was an avid reader, always eager to expand her knowledge and explore new worlds through books.
Thao’s hobbies included traveling, visiting family, and attending important family events such as graduations, weddings, and memorials. She cherished these moments, recognizing the importance of family bonds and the strength that they provided. Thao was the glue that held her family together, a beacon of love, support, and unity.
Thao will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Thao is survived by her devoted husband, Hung, with whom she shared 54 years of love and cherished memories. She is also survived by her four children, Baotran, Thuy, Hanh, and Diem, who will forever carry her legacy in their hearts.
Thao’s nurturing spirit extended to her role as a grandmother, and she leaves behind nine grandchildren, Christina, Catherine, Christopher, Vianna, Madeline, Aspen, Evan, Payton, and Mya, who were the light of her life. Their laughter and joy brought immense happiness to her days.
In addition to her immediate family, Thao is survived by her eleven siblings, who shared a lifelong bond of love and support. Thao treasured her relationships with her siblings, and their enduring connection was a testament to the strength of family ties.
While Thao’s passing leaves a void in the lives of those who loved her, she is now reunited with her parents, Vien Trinh and Le Thi Do, who lovingly nurtured and guided her throughout her life. Thao is also preceded in death by her brother, Luyen Ai, whose memory she carried with her.
Thao’s legacy lives on through her numerous nieces and nephews, who were touched by her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. Her impact on their lives will forever be cherished and remembered.

A funeral service will occur Friday, July 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A witness cremation will occur Friday, July 14, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Woodlawn Crematory, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
