Sue was born to Benjamin McCoy Holt, Jr. and Georgia Smoyer Holt on September 15, 1938 in Webb City, MO. Sue graduated from Webb City High School in 1956 and went on to receive her Bachelor's degree in Education from University of Missouri and her Master's from the University of Colorado. For most of her professional career, Sue taught high school physical education and coached girl's team sports. Sue was also, personally, active in many sports. One of her greatest loves was snow skiing, and it was in the Kansas City Ski Club that Sue met her future husband, Ron. They married in 1974 and resided in Kansas City, MO until Ron's employer, Eastman Kodak, transferred him to Rochester, NY. It was in Rochester that Sue obtained her second Master's degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management from Rochester Institute of Technology, and later put the degree to good use when she and Ron opened a very successful frozen custard shop in Pittsford, NY. In 1991, Sue and Ron moved to Orlando, FL where they ran La Piaza Italian Restaurant for 15 years until they retired in 2005.
One of her greatest enjoyments in life was traveling, which she took up shortly after obtaining her Master's from the University of Colorado and continued until her last trip to China in 2016. In her 44 years of marriage with Ron, Sue visited 6 continents and nearly 50 countries.
Sue is preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Janssen, and other many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
