Sharon is the daughter of Earl and Shirley Medecke and born on December 22, 1951, in Hamilton, Ohio.
Sharon lived a life of service whether it was to her fellow man or her country. She served in the United States Navy as a Corpsmen Navy Medic during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Naval Forces, Sharon pursued her LPN certification and graduated with top honors. She was a proud veteran who continued her passion of service through upon receiving her LPN certification in 1982 and worked at several local hospitals. She retired from her career with Veterans Affairs (VA) after 34 years and serving in multiple roles.
She is survived by the love of her life; her husband of 41 years, Lewis Perry Breland, and her two children; daughter Crystal Lee Wright (husband Jason) of FL, and their son Jason Lewis Breland (S/O Jimmy) of FL. She is also survived by her eldest sister, Janet Lois. She was also proud to be a grandma to her step grandson, Jason Sam Wright. Sharon also chose to surround herself by animals and her love for her pets and grandpets was one of her greatest joys. She will rest easy knowing her family will be taken care of by Sofie the Chiweenie, as well as her granddogs Bagel & Leo.
Sharon, in her later years, enjoyed sitting on the front porch reading books while spending time with her husband and pets. Sharon was a talented crocheter and made sure that all important moments in life were celebrated with a hand-crocheted blanket. Two of her most fulfilling achievements occurred while being pregnant with her two children. Her daughter Crystal was the first baby born to an enlisted female at the Naval Training Center Orlando in 1975 and her son Jason was born shortly after she graduated top of her class as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1982.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and four of her five sisters, Barbara Lee, Joyce Ann, Sandra Sue, and Debra Kaye.
