Sandra B. Parrish

Sandra Beck Parrish, longtime resident of Winter Garden, FL passed away July 21, 2013, having been preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Hooper Parrish, Jr. She previously lived in Gainesville, Belleview and St. Augustine, FL. Sandra was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her children, Stephanie Pelt (Vann) of Bremen, GA, Todd Parrish of Rockledge, FL, and Shannen Mohr (Frank) of Tallahassee, FL. Her adored grandchildren are Parrish and Patrick Pelt and Annsley and Amelia Mohr. Barbara Smith, St. Augustine, FL, and Ellie Marshall, Atlanta, GA are her surviving sisters. Although she battled Carcinoid Syndrome cancer for more than 15 years, she brightly managed to live her life to the fullest with church volunteering, gardening, travels and fun with friends and family. Her most treasured work was teaching special needs students. Sandra is best remembered for her beautiful, constant smile and for carrying out her motto, “Lord, what can I do in your name for someone else today?” Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, 5-8pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Gotha, FL, and the service to celebrate her life on Thursday, July 25, 10am at First Baptist Church of Winter Garden.
