Rose Mary, 93, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Rose Mary was born in Baltimore, MD on June 19, 1930, to her parents Lucy and Vincent Barnaba. Growing up in Baltimore, Rose Mary was a tomboy known for winning at marbles, playing basketball, and enjoying hide ‘n seek near the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
Rose Mary met her husband, Walter F. Muth Sr, in Baltimore and they married on September 30, 1951. Rose Mary and Walter eventually settled in Orlando, FL in the Kingswood Estates Neighborhood, they were lifelong friends sharing a love for bowling and going to Orlando Magic games. Rose Mary and Walter were blessed with two children, Walter and Lu Ann.
Rose Mary enjoyed a career primarily as a home maker but also working at American States Insurance Company. Once retired Rose Mary & Walter joined the Lockheed Martin’s retiree bowling league, the RAMS. Rose Mary bowled with her husband till his passing on February 7th, 1998. Rose Mary became the leader, organizing weekly lunch outings for the RAMS team. She organized and put together events that could rival a professional.
Rose Mary had a passion for the beach and purchased a condo in Ormand Beach where she lived for several years. She enjoyed many beach days with her children and grandchildren. Being a Baltimore girl, she always knew how to find the best restaurants for “her” softshell crabs and crabcakes.
Rose Mary enjoyed playing the slots, taking fun day trips with her grandchildren to Hard Rock Casino Tampa and weekend trips with friends to Biloxi. Although not a high roller, she found joy in the experience, always managing to break even.
In more recent times Rose Mary resided in the senior living community, Cascade Heights where she earned the nickname “Speedy” for drag racing her scooter down the halls. Rose Mary was a very active part of Cascade Heights community with her passion for Bingo, mix ‘n mingles, and was famously known for being Stevie Greer, (aka) Elvis’ biggest fan!
Rose Mary is pre-deceased by her husband Walter Muth Sr and brother Salvatore Vincent Barnaba and sister-in-law Pat.
Rose Mary is survived by her son Walter F. Muth Jr and wife Jeanette, daughter Lu Ann Rosin and wife Gloria; grandchildren Amber DeNayer and fiancé Stephen, Timothy Muth and wife Ashley, James Muth and fiancé Ashley; great grandchildren Breanna, Hailey, Maddison, Cora, Greyson, and Kensley.
Rose Mary will always be remembered for taking care of others, living life by her rules, and for her fiery Italian spirit.
Viewing and Funeral Service will be Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Woodlawn Dignity Memorial in Gotha, FL.
Viewing will be from 10am to 11:45am with Service to start at 12pm noon. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice in honor of Rose Mary.
