Rodney E. Wheeler, Jr.

He was born on January 18, 1933 in Willing, New York to the late Rodney Wheeler, Sr. and Ruth Genung.

He graduated from Andover High School where he then joined the military. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years. He married Martha Hurst and was married for 51 years. He eventually retired from Sealy Mattress Company after a 40 year career.

Rod was a quiet, thoughtful man who enjoyed the simple pleasures such as puzzles, reading, watching documentaries, gardening and tinkering with things.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; his 3 sons, Donald ‘Gene’ Hullender, Jeffrey Wheeler and Scott Wheeler, all of Orlando, Florida; 5 grandchildren, Gene, Chris, Cybill, Andrew and Alyssa; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at 11am with services and burial beginning at 12pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd, Gotha, FL 34734.
