Robert Ray Mann, son of the late Ray and Tina Mann, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, April 22, at Health Central Hospital. Born on December 13, 1935, Bob was a graduate of Edgewater High School, and a veteran of the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Marine Corps and United States Air Force. In 1956 he married his best friend, Sharon Miller. They were married for 64 years, 4 months, and 1 day.
Bob worked at the Kennedy Space Center as a life support technician, where he retired after thirty-five years. After retirement he worked in maintenance at West Orlando Baptist Church, where he and Sharon were charter members of 43 years.
Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Teresa in 1998. He is survived by his wife; a son Ed; a brother Fred “Ted” (Marsha); a sister Jo Ann Nunnery; two grandsons, Bobby (April) and Tommy (Alicia); a granddaughter Becky Blackman (Clyde); and seven great-grandchildren, Joshua, Micah, Reagan, and TJ Mann, and Clyde, Chelsea, and Caleb Blackman.
Services will be held at West Orlando Baptist Church on Sunday, April 25. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00, and the service will begin at 2:00, with a graveside service to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Rev. Tommy Mann and Rev. Kenric Barnett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Orlando Baptist Church’s “Bridge of Faith” fund, 1006 East Crown Pointe Rd., Ocoee, 34761.
