He was born on November 21, 1936 in Mercy Hospital on N. Market Avenue in Canton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Elizabeth (Wiedermann) Kreuzer, his brother Bill (Louise), his sister Rose (Andy Nadzam), his sister Betty Singhaus, his brother-in-law Myron Singhaus, and his nephews Dan and Sam Singhaus.
His earliest years were spent on a 75-acre farm on Rt. 44, where his favorite playmates were his dog Butch and his pony Daisy. The family moved to Harrisburg, OH where he attended Sacred Heart of Mary Elementary School. He lettered in basketball there and was an altar boy. He enjoyed his “growing-up” years with his best friends Bruce Z. and Chuck M. From ’51-’53 he attended Central Catholic High School in Canton, OH and lettered in football his freshman year. His parents then moved to Orlando in ’53 where he finished his senior year of high school (’54) at Saint James, lettering in basketball before the school closed and became Bishop Moore High School (’55). He served in the U.S.M.C.R. from ’58-’63 and was honorably discharged. He retired form Sprint Telephone (W.P. Telephone) as ‘grounds maintenance supervisor’ in 1999 with 21 years of service. He survived lung cancer in 2001. “Bobby K” enjoyed college football (Gators and Buckeyes), shooting pool, swimming, and working around the house. He was Catholic, a member of “Eagles 4449” and the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Foundation. He is survived by his son Kris Kreuzer of Lewisburg, TN, and two granddaughters, one grandnephew, four nephews, five nieces, and two step-nieces (Warren, OH). Bob felt lucky to have lived in this time of history when life was fun and full of meaning.
