He was born September 19, 1934 in Charleston, West Virginia, a son of the late Howard and Goldie (Dillon) Hudson. He served in the Army, worked at Goodrich Gulf, and became a builder for the majority of his life. He attended South Charleston High School and Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene where he met the love of his life Shirley Ann Lore, whom he married in Charleston in 1956. They lived in Germany, while he served in the military, Charleston, West Virginia and moved to Orlando, Florida in 1980 where he led Hudson Construction through three decades of custom home building.
Robert was active with Work and Witness efforts of the Church of the Nazarene and other organizations. After moving to Florida, he became an active member of the Central Church of the Nazarene (now CenterPointe). He was involved in 28 World Wide Mission Trips in many countries. He served as a Board member of the Central Care Mission of Orlando for over 20 years and was a critical part of its establishment and mission.
He is preceded in death by a brother Paul Hudson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Ann, three brothers, Leon Hudson, Rufus Hudson, Daniel Hudson, a sister, Phyllis Knight, two sons, Robert Hudson Jr. and Todd Hudson, four grandchildren, Robert Hudson III, Crystal Hudson, Dakota Hudson, and Tiffany Hudson.
