Reba Brown Jones, 87, of Orlando, FL died on March 11, 2014. She was born to the late John Thurman and Julia Brown in Charleston, Mississippi on November 6, 1926. Reba was a true “Southern-Belle,” and a very intelligent woman with a strong personality. She was married to her husband, Donald LR Jones, for 50 years prior to his passing in 1997. Reba spent most of her life being a mother to her four children. She also worked as an Attendance Clerk (a very fitting profession) for over 10 years at Hiawassee Elementary School. She was a die-hard football fan, particularly for her Florida State Seminoles, and had a memory for football stats with which no man would willingly compete. Reba certainly made an impression on everyone she met and left an impact on those knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
Reba was preceded in her passing by her husband, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
She is survived by her Sons JP Jones, Craig Jones and wife Karan, Reese Jones and wife Barbara; Daughter Rita Greenspan; Grandchildren Lee, Leslie, Lindsay, Daniel, and “Sweet Little David;” and Great-Grandchild Mackenzie.
Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
Service will take place at 3:00pm, followed by Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
