This fight was a skill he mastered well as he had been a survivor throughout his lifetime, direct and protective of his loved ones. He was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, to parents, Dionisio and Dolores Garcia, and comes from a family of 7, five sisters and two brothers and he was the 6th in the group. Raymond grew up in the Lower East side of New York City and lived in Central Florida for the past 32 years. He is survived by his sister, Ana Mercedes Garcia, Lucy Duchesne, Brunilda Baloga, and his only brother, Freddie Garcia.
Raymond married Lillian De Jesus in 1976 and they were blessed with two beautiful, loving children, Julian, who is at peace in heaven since 2004, and Lindsey Nicole, who married Daniele Napolitano in 2012. His early career was as a Diesel Truck Mechanic. Raymond also developed his talent as a photographer and enjoyed taking pictures as well as capturing moments in weddings and other religious celebrations. He frequently commented that the best part of his life was when he was a “stay-at-home dad” in Switzerland as an incredibly present father where he created amazing memories with our kids. Raymond was the executive chef of the household and took great pleasure in providing delicious, diverse, wholesome meals for his family. Many will attest to the perfect steaks that he would make with great pride.
Raymond was a very private person and loyally protective of his family and the few friends he cherished. He enjoyed going to unique restaurants, hunting and fishing. He also had a passion for watching action packed and comedy movies at home in the company of loved ones. Additionally, he was a student of history and often would share his points of view about our country and the world. Besides living in Switzerland with his family, Raymond also lived in Argentina with his wife, Lillian, and cherished every moment created to enrich their marriage of 44 years.
We will be Celebrating the Life of Raymond Garcia at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734, with a Viewing on Thursday, March 5th, from 4 – 9 pm; on Friday, March 6th, a Christian Service will be held at 10 am, followed by the Burial at 11:30 am.
