She was born in Capels, West Virginia on August 25, 1937 to the late Claude Henderson and Mary Lockhart.
After graduating with a Master of Arts from Marshall University, Patricia returned to Orlando to become an Elementary school teacher. She loved children, sharing her knowledge and expanding young minds.
It was in Orlando, that she met and married the late Jim Anderson, the first love of her life. They married on August 8, 1958, in Orlando Florida. Jim was a military man with whom she traveled around the world during the years of his service.
After Jim’s passing, her love and interest of exploring the world continued by becoming a travel agent. She loved using her own memories to help create many wonderful experiences for herself and others.
On September 4, 1993, in Winston Salem, NC, Patricia married the second love of her life, Walter Foster. Walter “Punky” and Patricia “Trish” were high school friends that reconnected at one of their High School Reunions. They loved each other dearly.
Although Patricia never had any children of her own, she counted Punky’s two daughters, Cathy and Lisa, a blessing in her life and felt as though they were hers. This is certain, as only those closest to her were given the honor of calling her Trish.
One of the greatest gifts Punky gave Trish came at Christmas time in 2009. A little black furry four-legged friend, named McQueen, otherwise nicknamed Queenie (a girl). McQueen kept Patricia company for 14 years, especially after Covid. She was her constant companion and gave her purpose and fond memories.
In 2011, Patricia returned to Orlando to begin these latter chapters of her life. She had a heart for giving her time and talents to various charitable organizations and did a considerable amount of volunteering with the Sorosis Club of Orlando.
She was a competitive Bridge player, and was very good, although quite humble if you asked her. There were a few guilty pleasures which included getting her hair done every week, a diet coke with lots of ice, watching her favorite soap operas and gameshows, but, only after her daily chores were done.
We celebrate her generosity in life and remember her always.
She now joins those who preceded her in death and continues to love those who survived her.
Join us for her Celebration of Life at 10am on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida.
Because Patricia was so generous in her giving to others, in lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation in Patricia’s name to your charity of choice.
Fond memories & kind condolences may be offered for Patricia's loved ones in the online guest book.
