Affectionately known as "Mamee"

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Parbatie Maraj, of Cove and John, Guyana.

Parbatie, lovingly known as Mamee, was a sweet, soft-spoken, and caring soul who devoted her life to her family and to all those around her. A woman of quiet strength, boundless love, and deep compassion, she was always seen with a smile, never spoke a bad word, and carried herself with grace and dignity. Her presence was a blessing, and her absence leaves an immeasurable void.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Rajpattie and Soobaran Maraj, and the devoted wife of the late Sasenarain Maraj of Enmore, Guyana. Mamee served her family with honor and pride. She was the epitome of a devoted mother and the heart of her home.

Mamee was the foundation of our family—a strong, courageous, and unique woman who never wavered in her love or support. She lived simply, with kindness and sincerity, and extended motherly love to all who knew her. She was always there for others, offering her care quietly and without hesitation. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law, she embraced every role with devotion and tenderness.

She leaves behind a devoted family:

Mother of Deowattie Hardeen, Loaknaught Maraj, Deonarain Maraj, Kamala Devi Maraj, and Kedharnaught Maraj.

Grandmother of Ranie, Sonia, Padmini, Susanna, Devi, and Mahendra.

Great-grandmother of Devin, Dylan, Akash, Dev Kumar, Ryan, Ethan, and Grayson.

She is also survived by her sister Dalin of New York and was predeceased by her siblings Betty, Buddy, Titch (of Guyana), and Baby (of Trinidad).

Beloved aunt to Silo, Glorie, Gaitere, Barbara, Shanti, and many others who were touched by her generous spirit.

We take comfort in knowing that Lord Krishna has welcomed her into His divine garden, where her soul will rest in eternal peace and bliss.
