September 27, 2019- October 1, 2024
It is with shattered hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Oakley Rae Swatkowski on October 1, 2024 at the tender age of 5. Oakley Rae was born on September 27, 2019 to Caitlyn N. (Bartlett) Swatkowski and Derek J. Swatkowski in Deland, Florida.
From the moment Oakley Rae was born, there was something uniquely special about her. She was a sensitive, kind and pure soul who loved with all of her big heart. She was the perfect combination of a girly-girl with just enough tomboy. She loved dressing in pretty clothes, putting on play makeup, dressing up Barbies, caring for her baby dolls and cuddling with her stuffed animals. She also took every opportunity she had to catch bugs, caterpillars and lizards and keep them as long as she could. Oakley Rae had a special artistic ability that was way beyond her years and beyond that of most. She displayed this in her perfect coloring and drawings. Above all, Oakley Rae loved her big family and absolutely idolized her 11-Month older big brother, Bentley Finn. Whenever Oakley Rae had to say goodbye, she always had to have “one more hug and a kiss” a couple of times before she would leave.
Our world will never be the same without Oakley Rae but we know she is at peace in God’s loving arms and with the beloved family and pets that went before her. Oakley Rae is survived by her brother, Bentley Finn Swatkowski; her mother, Caitlyn (Bartlett) Swatkowski; her father, Derek Swatkowski; her maternal grandmother, Cori Bartlett (Cameron Bennett); her maternal grandfather, Gary Bartlett; her paternal grandmother, Donna (Mike) Mooser; her paternal grandfather, David Swatkowski; her paternal uncle, David Swatkowski; her maternal great grandmothers, Shirley Cemoni and Sandra Bartlett; her paternal great grandmother, Eileen Swatkowski; and several loving great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
A service celebrating Oakley Rae’s life will be held graveside on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 4:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd, Gotha, FL 34734.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in Oakley Rae’s name to help support the amazing team that cared for her at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
