Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. - John 16:22
A 38-year resident of Daytona Beach, Florida, Mark Yang cherished living on the beach. For nearly four fulfilling decades, Mark enjoyed morning walks with his beloved wife, Sue, and watched his only child and son, Eddie, literally grow up in the surf and sand. His love for the beach was only surpassed by his love for his family.
Mark was born in Taiwan into a big family of four brothers and two sisters and countless cousins. He earned a bachelor’s degree in college and held positions as a soldier, high school teacher and city councilman in his early career. At a young adult age, his dedication to the well-being of his family led him on his epic journey to Florida where he built his life around the hospitality industry.
Mr. Yang enjoyed playing golf and billiards as well as reading and writing. He very much adored spending time playing with and mentoring his two granddaughters, Vivienne (8) and Juliette (5). His friends always described him as a friendly, caring, gentle, humble and interesting man. He is in Heaven with Jesus smiling down and watching over us all, knowing his legacy of being a good and kind-hearted man will continue, and proud that his son will take great care of mom and his son’s young family.
Funeral services will all take place at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Saturday, October 9 starting at 1PM with a viewing followed by funeral and burial services and ending with a reception.
