Angels and loved ones gone before joyfully greeted Miguel A. Serrano Serrano as our Lord, Jesus, led him into Heaven on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 4:37 a.m. As a boy, Miguel ran barefoot through the tropical hills of Aibonito, Puerto Rico, where he was born on December 13, 1915. As a young man, he served his country as a Staff Sargeant in the U.S. Army during World War II; met a princess named Yolanda Arreche Prados during a military parade in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he later made her his bride and queen on January 5, 1946. Miguel walked tall on Wall Street in New York, New York where the couple intially relocated and finally he retired from Banco de Ponce back in Puerto Rico. His last residence was Adventist Care Center Courtland in Orlando, Florida. Miguel was a simple man; a straight-forward and God-fearing man who taught his children the values of honesty, loyalty and hard work. He loved, foremost, his God and the cherished wife He had given him. It was this love that radiated to his children, Michael, Diana and Yolanda who call him Papi. He is known as Abuelo Churraco by his thirteen grandchildren, Miguel, Carla, Angel, Nikol, Eddie, Elizabeth, Rafael, Richard, Carlos, Guillermo, Juan, Diana-Marie and Anna and to his fifteen great-grandchildren, Natalia, Ariana, Thalia, Skylyn, Jackson, Jett, Gabriel, Sofia, Jay, Anna-Marie, Kyla, Ysabel, Tristan, Emmi and Samuel he is greatgrandpa. While Miguel's soul and spirit rejoice in the presence of our mighty God, his body will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home during a short burial site ceremony on Thursday, April 17, 2015 at 1:00 P.M.
