Lewis Edward Swartz was born on Nov 21, 1931 in Carlisle, PA to Lewis Andrew Swartz and Dora Blanch Cornman. Preceded in death by his wife Hazel Geneva King, sister Dora Shatto and Brother Richard Swartz. Survived by son George Swartz of Box Springs, GA. Three daughters Bonnie Bailey of Palm Coast, FL Jennifer Stevens of Orlando, FL and Amanda Lynn of Middleburg, FL. Ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He retired from Lockheed Martin after 35 years as a Master Welder.
Mr. Swartz welded parts for NASA's space crafts from the Mercury to the Apollo missions. He served in Korea for 4 years in the US Air Force and then again for 2 years in the US Navy. He never met a stranger. Given the chance he would talk your ear off, mostly about his children and grandchildren.
