Leonard Brown, age 94 of Orlando, Florida passed away on March 10, 2012. He was born in Luna, St. Mary, Jamaica West Indies on June 3, 1917 to the union of Joseph and Ella (Thompson) Brown. He worked for many years as a Security Guard. Church and his faith were important to Leonard. He was baptized in Boston, Massachusetts at Berea Seventh Day Adventist Church. He served faithfully as a Deacon as well. In 1990, Leonard and his wife Celeste moved to Orlando where they joined the North Orlando Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was active as a Deacon and a Community Service Worker for North Orlando church. Leonard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and his family meant a great deal to him.
Leonard is survived by his beloved wife, Celeste; his daughter, Maxine Brown-Reid and her husband David Reid Sr.; his sister Clara Thompson, his 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 6 - 8 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11 AM Sunday, March 25, 2012 at North Orlando Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Tony Taylor and Pastor Carl Ware Sr., officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, Florida.
