John was born on November 23, 1942, in Atlanta, GA, to Jack and Carolyn Roberts and lived in Orlando from the age of one.
He attended Kaley Elementary, Cherokee Jr High and Boone High School where he excelled in athletics. He was granted a four-year scholarship to attend FSU playing football (fullback).
Upon graduation, he returned to Orlando to join the family business, Tub Master Corp, developing national and international business all the while making new friendships across the world. Upon retiring, he became a real estate broker and formed Roberts Realty.
He loved hunting the lakes, rivers and woods of Central Florida. A member of Rio Pinar Country Club, John enjoyed playing golf. He remained an avid sportsman throughout his life hunting, fishing, scuba diving, skiing etc. He loved sharing the abundance of his life’s skills and experiences with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Gigi of 34 years; his daughter; Shan (husband Jeff); his son, Jack; his grandchildren, Jacob, Emily, Abigayle and Asa; his brothers Joe (wife Cheryl) and Jim (wife Jonze); sister, Jane; and many friends and sporting companions.
The memorial service at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Gotha, FL, will be held on August the 29th from 11 AM to 3 PM.
