He was born in Hanna, OK, on February 8, 1929.
He was married to Rosa M. Carney on February 21st, 1953 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
John worked for the U.S. Government for twenty nine years; four years of service with the U.S. navy and twenty five year in the Fire Department at Roosevelt Roads Naval Base in Puerto Rico. He retired on July 25th, 1982.
He had been living in the Orlando area since the summer of 1988. He enjoyed many different activities such as gardening and walking through the wooded trails by his house. But most of all, he loved being with his grandchildren. He also loved going to Disney World with the family; he was just there this past February 8th to celebrate his 92nd birthday.
He is survived by his wife Rosa Carney; his two daughters MaryAnn and Maribel; his five grandchildren, John, Matthew, Michael, Jorge, and Sergio; his great grandchildren, Natalia, Layla, and John.
A service will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
