Jean Ann (Mattingly) Johnson departed this lifetime peacefully at home in Windermere, Florida surrounded by her family on September 19, 2024-seven months to the day after losing her husband Tom of 62 years. Jean and Tom were high school sweethearts and were inseparable.
She was born January 10, 1947 to Dale and Hannah Mattingly in Vincennes, Indiana. She is survived by her children; Lisa DeBole and Tom Jr (Pamela) as well as three grandchildren Rebecca, Rachel and Nickolas (Christina) DeBole.She is preceded in death by her sister Susan Eckelbarger.
Jean spent much of her early years in Brownsburg, Indiana raising her children and as a middle school teacher. She loved to read, cook, and travel. She had visited 75 countries and set foot on all seven continents.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Orlando Humane Society as she loved her animals.
Private interment at Dr. Phillips Cemetery will be on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
