Jamie Levine, 46, of Oakland, Florida, passed away suddenly on January 14, 2014. Jamie was born on August 23, 1967, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. Jamie was a mixed martial artist promoter who founded World Extreme Fighting (WEF) in 1997 and went on to produce 46 events featuring numerous notable fighters. Before founding WEF, Jamie was a 4-0 professional mixed martial arts fighter who once held the WEF Light Heavyweight belt. Jamie was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, water sports, going to the beach and lake and spending time with family and friends. Jamie is survived by his sons, Cody and Xander Levine; his mother, Sandra Knight and step-father Edward Knight, his father, Ed Levine and step-mother, Debra Houston; sister, Amy Levine Federman and step-sister, Briana Knight; uncles, Chester Embley, Jerry (Suzette) Levine, Larry (Charlotte) Levine, Marty (Sharyn) Levine, Dan Levine; and his aunt Judy (Tom) Clark; nephew, Daniel Federman; longtime girlfriend, Lauren McCann; and many loving cousins. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 19, 2014, from 1:00 to 2:00pm with a service to follow at 2:00pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida. Following the funeral service the family has invited guests to stay from 3:00 to 5:00pm to continue to celebrate Jamie’s life. Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
