Harriet J. Moore

Harriet J. Moore, 96 of Winter Park, FL died of emphysema on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014. She was the daughter of James and Jennie Sawicki and was born on October 14, 1917 in Meriden, CT. Harriet was happily married for 56 years to Phillip, who died in 1995. They settled in Orlando/Winter Park in 1953 and were members of St. James Cathedral Parish. Harriet was an x-ray technician for a physician's office. She loved to play golf and was an accomplished knitter and seamstress. Harriet loved feeding the birds in her backyard. She is survived by her brother Henry Sawicki of Meriden, CT, her favorite nieces, Penny Fable and Pat Jardon, and many friends in Orlando who loved her like family. She is pre-deceased by sisters, Regina Sewall and Emily Milas, and brothers, Richard Sawicki and Alfred Sawicki.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. James Cathedral on Friday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey, 1101 Audubon Way, Maitland, FL 32751.
