Horace Timothy Broughton (Tim), of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 17, 2013, after a long battle with heart problems. Tim was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 18, 1923. He married Marie the “Love of his life and best friend” on November 2, 1946 and they shared 67 years of their life together. Tim was a Quality Control Engineer for Lockheed Martin for 38 years, after being transferred from Baltimore, MD to the Orlando area in 1958, along with several other dear co-workers. He loved camping, fishing, mechanics and spending time with his family. His “Passion” was the Marine Corps. He served in the 1st Marine Division during World War II from 1940 through 1946. He served in the Pacific at Palau, Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands and New Guinea. He was truly “Semper Fidelis” and so proud to have served his country. Tim is survived by his wife Marie; son Timothy and wife Rebecca; daughter, Sandra and husband Larry, a wonderful grandson Christopher, and his brother and sister, Herbert and Susan. He will also be missed by his beloved dog “Bo”. A visitation will be held on Thursday May 23, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday May 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
