Gerry was born in Manila, Philippines on May 25, 1957, and was the sixth of nine siblings. He attended San Beda College from first grade until high school. He then graduated with a Med Tech degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. Afterward, he decided to continue on to medical school and graduated with an M.D. also from the University of Santo Tomas. Gerry migrated to the United States in 1989 and completed his residency at Miami Children’s Hospital. He practiced medicine as a pediatrician.
On August 24, 1991, he married his medical school classmate and they were married for 31 years. He treated his wife like a queen. Gerry traveled often with his family and was able to see many countries and U.S. states. He was good with children and often joked around with the people around him. He also had a love for history, dogs, and later on, K-dramas. As his wife said, “At least it isn’t something else.” He is survived by his spouse, Maria Regina, and daughter, Felicity.
