George William Cooley Jr.

George William Cooley Jr., age 89, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023. He was born in Miami, Florida on January 5, 1934 and graduated from Miami Edison High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He married Bettye Lee Garrett on May 27, 1954.

George had a career in Nautical Prototype Engineer for Water Bonnet and Stingray Boat Company. He had a passion for his family, boating, fishing and tinkering /building things.

He is survived by his wife, Bettye Cooley; daughters, Janet and her husband, Dale Lance and LeAnne and her husband, Chris Jackson and grandchildren, Alec Jackson and Marissa Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey.

A visitation for George will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A committal service will occur Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
