I knew Floyd back in 1953 @ summer school at Tuscaoosa High. Truly a greay man.

Floyd was one of the main mentors of my early business career.  As a young man in my early 20's in the early 1980's, Floyd hired me and guided under his wing in the skills of leasing office space.  Frankly there is not a day that I do not reflect on those years of representing Jaymont Realty in the leasing of Barnett Plaza, CNA Tower and 111 North Orange Ave. in Downtown Orlando, Florida.
Before the era of computers, your leasing team would center on Floyd and discuss our potential prospects and Floyd would map our direction on restaurant paper napkins.  Those were progressive and more focused times and experiences that I have will never forget.  God Speed Floyd.

I knew Floyd at Bibb County High School.  He was almost three years older than I, and while we were not close friends, he was always nice to me and I have very fond memories of him.  Of course, in that setting, I best remember his prowess on the gridiron.  I am pleased, but not surprised, to know of the positive impact of his life.  Blessings on the family.

My memories of Floyd are as another ME class of 1959.  Those days were a bit different from today, in that we had classes with wooden floors and big fans instead of air conditioning.  In addition to a heavy class load, Floyd had the added burden of a lot of football practice.  He did well in both.  Although we went separate ways after graduation, I can see by the memories expressed, that he will be greatly missed.

My Memorial to a Wonderful Man.
As I look out amongst the folks gathered here today to, I am reminded of how many Blessing God has bestowed upon me.
However, there is one blessing that stands apart from the rest and that Blessing was Floyd Faucette.
Floyd stepped into the lives of Susan, Christina and Michelle and created a wonderful family life for them at a time when their lives as well as mine were in turmoil.
I have always said that if you lined up 100 men all in a row I would have chosen Floyd to take my place and raise our daughters in a safe and loving environment. And that is exactly what he did.
Those of you that know Christina and Michelle will all agree they have grown up to be wonderful young ladies and loving and caring mothers to their children. Susan and Floyd showed them how to be who they are today.
My relationship with Floyd was different then most of your friendships, as we did not play golf go fishing or attend social events with each, other but rather spent many hours talking about our lives and the lives of our children. He shared his wisdom and kindness for people and life as he was a “giver and not a taker”. He rarely had an unkind word to say about anyone and always seemed to find the good in most things and people.
Floyd made me a better person in life and I will forever be indebted to him and Susan for raising our daughters and always providing me an opportunity to visit my daughters as often could and for opening up their home to me during my visits and providing me a place to stay.
As you most of you know Floyd was the consummate Engineer and everything mechanical intrigued him to know end. His “tinkering” with things mechanical makes surgical intervention look simple.
Floyd I will miss you and you will always have a special place in my heart and as I have said to you many times, I Love You and I thank you for being there for our daughters when I could not be there for them.
You will always be an example that Angels truly walk amongst us, God Bless you and keep you until we all meet again.

Susan, my heart overflows with sympathy and love for you, Randy,Eva Marie, Tina and Michele. All of you were so very important to  him and all of you were so fortunate to have had him to love.  Floyd was trully a brother I never had.  He helped me with all troubles that I have he through the years. My Daddy, Floyd, loved him  more than his own life.I have always wished I could be the magnificant, sweet, understanding, kind and compassinate person he was. I first met Floyd in 1979, and he was truly one-of-a-kind.  I was so lucky to have known him and to have learned so much from him.  He was truly a remarkable person and I will never forget him.  We built 2 high rise office buildings together in downtown Orlando, and it was such a great pleasure to work with him over the years.  He was a great friend and he will be missed by all who ever knew him. My deepest sympathies to his entire family.

Floyd was team captain for the Yellow Jackets when I played in 1958. He was definitely a "good ole boy". We will miss you, floyd.

I am so sad to learn of Floyd's death.  He and my late husband Cal were such close friends throughout the years going back to Georgia Tech days.  Floyd was always a friend you could depend on.  My family and I extend our deepest condolences to the family.  Dora James, Opelika, Al

Susan, We are all remembering you and your precious family in our thoughts and prayers. So saddened to hear of the loss of Floyd. Can't help but think of the rejoicing in heaven at this time with Lupee, Floyd, and Kyle. Lupee never failed to mention him in her prayers and asked us to always remember him. Our thoughts are with you in the loss of Floyd.  Floyd was a special one with me starting from our playing days at Tech.  We maintained a degree of contact over the years as my work in education and vacations brought us to Florida.  Janice and I hope that things go as well as they might as the family moves on from this loss.

I played Football with Floyd at Georgia Tech in the late 1950's. Floyed was an outstanding halfback and very important in the success of our team. He was a tough competitor with outstanding speed. All of his teammates and Georgia Tech fans are sorry to learning of his passing.
