She was married to Thomas B. O’Brien for 44 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She excelled at her homemaking skills and hobbies of cooking, sewing, gardening, painting and entertaining family and friends.
Eleanor also excelled at and had a passion for dance and theater. She enjoyed performing in shows and tap dancing until she was in her 70’s. In Orlando, she enjoyed being in a local senior tap dancing group that put on shows and competed in the Senior Games.
Most of all, her passion was her family. She had a deep love and appreciation for each of her 5 sons and their interests throughout the years. She dearly loved each son and her daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known as the fun grandmom who invested her time into her grandchildren and always baked chocolate chip cookies.
Eleanor brought her family and friends great love and joy and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her 4 sons, Thomas and his wife, Sharon O’Brien, Glenn and his wife, Alice O’Brien, Russell and his wife, Karen O’Brien and Robert and his wife, Magali O’Brien; her 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren: Jennifer and her husband, David Sullivan (Jason, Tyler and Samantha), Jillian O’Brien (James and Emma), John and his wife, Amber O’Brien, Drs. Kerry and her husband, Michael Aston (Evelyn and William), Kate and her husband, Cole Cairl (Zachary) , and Shane Thomas O’Brien. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Thomas B. O’Brien, her son, Edward O’Brien, and her sister, Joan Castaldi.
