He was born November 26, 1928 in Chauncey, GA., to Hobson and Winnie Brown. After graduating from high school, Ed joined the Air Force and proudly served his county for 22 years. While stationed at the Pentagon, he met and married Ruth (Taffi) Kallmann, and for the next two decades they traveled the world together, while raising their two sons. Ed retired from the Air Force in 1971 and moved his family to Orlando, Florida where he lived until his death.
For many years Ed worked at Correct Craft building competition ski boats. He was also widely sought after in the Conway area for his expertise in home repairs and painting. He loved to fish and do any kind of work with his hands, especially carpentry, but the passion of his life was his church.
Ed was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Orlando, and he humbly and faithfully served his Lord Jesus there for 49 years as a deacon, trustee, and Sunday school teacher. You can look the world over, but you will not find another person who is more admired, respected, and loved than Edwin Brown. He was a simple and humble man who made a lasting and eternal impact in the lives of countless men and women, boys and girls. Ed is greatly missed- but never forgotten.
