On Wednesday, January 22, 2020 Edna May Howard, loving Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother and Great-grandmother passed away at age 91. Edna was born on May 24, 1928 in Point Pleasant New Jersey, to Harold Staats Beerbower and Edna Mae Demming. As a child, the family moved to Winter Park Florida, where she grew up and graduated from Winter Park High School. Her parents owned a hotel in Winter Park.
Edna worked at the Bank of Winter Park for 10 years.
Soon after, she met Rodney (Rock) Howard and they were married in Georgia, July 6, 1947. They were married for 66 years.
Edna and Rodney traveled the World and raised three boys, Wayne, Alan and Kevin. Edna loved all family occasions and holidays as well as decorating for all of the holidays. She loved playing games, (Dominoes, Solitaire) Sewing, and working on her jigsaw puzzles.
Also she enjoyed trips to the Mountains and family vacations at the Beach, spending time with her family and grandchildren, also planning trips with them.
Edna was always very organized and punctual. Always had a kind word for others, very loving, comforting and positive spirit towards life.
Edna was very blessed and survived by her sister Betty Beerbower McLelland age 96. Sons, Alan Howard, Kevin (Debbie)Howard. and Daughter in law Barbara Howard, Her six (6) grandchildren, Travis (Becky) Howard, Nick Howard, Jennifer (Matt) Wissler, Ashley (Matt) Heafy, Ryan Howard, Megan (Derek) Jones. As well as Nine (9)Great-grandchildren and other loving relatives, Nieces and Nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday February 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Gotha, Florida.
