Doris D. Roeder, 90, passed away peacefully at Hospice Care Center in Orange City, Fl. on September 17, 2012. She lived a very long and fulfilling life. She was born in Jessieville, Arkansas on October 29, 1921. She grew up on a farm with her father and grandparents. Life was very hard and by the age of sixteen she moved to Peru, Indiana where she met and married David Oberlin. Together, they had two children, Barbara Oberlin and Charles Oberlin. Unfortunately the marriage ended in divorce. She then met and married Alvin Metzger. This produced no children and also ended in divorce. Finally in 1956, she met and married Alvin H. Roeder. They had one child, Wonetta Roeder-Hart.
Alvin had two sons from his first marriage (wife deceased) John Roeder and Anthony Roeder. Alvin and Doris had a very long and loving life relationship which lasted 55 years until Alvin’s passing in September of 2011. She was a wonderful homemaker and devoted wife and mother. She was survived by all her children and eleven grandchildren.
A final viewing was held at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Fl. on September 18, 2012. There she was cremated and laid to rest next to her beloved husband Alvin. I love you mother, I will miss you-
