I watched the memorial of Desmond from Cape  Town South Africa.
What a soul felt touching memorial for your loved  Desmond. It is through Stan Edwards that I have this connection. It was so beautiful to actually to feel the pure love that Desmond made everyone who spoke feel. I always remember Stan going to visit his brother Clydy  ,who he clearly loved,

The way I remember my cousin Clive is as one of the funniest person in our family. He told the best stories. I enjoyed seeing  how he made my mom (his aunt sweetie) laugh uncontrollably when they were on the phone.  He’ll be missed dearly but his memories will be cherished.


Clive aka Desmond Sr. was a special kind of guy.  He and his wife Flo  were 4 ever friends to my Dad, Astor Sr. and Step mom Vilma.  They enjoyed each others company.; a blessing of a relationship   which lasted  for many years. Clive's energy , love of life  and people  combined  with laughter will be missed. May we celebrate his presence with us.  
Its my prayer that his life and transitioning will not be in vain.
Bless are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.

So sorry to hear of Desmond's passing.  He was always so friendly and welcoming when we walked the neighborhood.    He talked so fondly about his family and he loved his home and garden and life in general.  You will be missed Desmond.  Our prayers go out to his family at this very sad time.

My deepest and sincere condolences  to my dear friend Flora in the loss of her husband Clive,  and to children Pauline and Desmond jr. in the loss of their Dad.  Clive was such a warm, loving and giving person.  He cherished his friends, loved his music, and enjoyed taking care of his home; the lawn, flowers and fruit trees showed his impeccable handiwork. His bare feet were always in contact with God's earth (smile).  I will miss my friend dearly; his laughter, love of people, and especially of his family and friends are lovely memories.

Our deepest condolences to the Edwards Family. Desmond was one of the finest individuals we have ever had the honor of knowing. Everywhere he went he brightened up everyones day. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. You will be sorely missed our friend, but will always be in our thoughts and heart.

I will cherish always the memories and fun times we had together like this trip with me to Barbados.  

Not only did we love chatting with Desmond almost every morning , during our neighborhood walks , but Desmond was a guest at all of our Social Gatherings at our home , over the past 2 decades . He was the life of the party and beloved by all of our friends and family . Condolences are also sent from our friends Shane and Gill in Phoenix and my niece , Victoria and brothers Chris and Paul in the UK , whom all looked foward to seeing Desmond on their visits to Courtleigh Park . Tribute to Desmond Edwards affectionately known as Clydie to the family.

Clydie and I were born and grew up together in Palmetto Grove, St. Mary. Time and distance separated us in our adult lives until we met again and remained close in England, where we both got married.  We enjoyed so many happy times together shared with other family members.  There was never a dull moment in his company celebrating family weddings, birthday parties, christenings and Christmas.  Clydie loved the children and was Jackie’s godfather.  We send our deepest condolences to his wife Flo and his children.  No words can express the sadness and void in their lives.  May his soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine on him.

I always remember Uncle Clydie with a drink in his hand cutting up and cracking jokes with uncle Sammy, my grandmother Ms. Estry, my dad, Auntie Flo and others. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the Edwards Family, wishing you strength and peace during this time. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of my close friend who was like a brother to me for the past 40 years; He was very special to me.  Clydie as I called him will be sorely missed, he had such an amazing personality, he knew how to lift your spirit and give good advice in a time of need. Even though we were miles apart it seems as if we were still back in New York like the old times, he always made it a priority to call and check on me from time to time. I am deeply affected by his passing, but he will always remain with me as I remember the memories we shared together.

Thanks for sharing this occasion with us, although we never met him in person his close resemblance to Stan would suggest similar personalities, compassion and generosity being at the forefront.  R.I.P. 

Our Deepest condolences to the Edwards family.  Desmond Sr, who we lovingly called "Clydie" was a dear friend. We know the family for over 45 years. He was a very  jovial  person. If you were in a bad mood, he knew how to cheer you up.
He was a honest, decent, loving and caring man. An extraordinary human being  . He was also straight-forward. He tell you like it is.
He will be truly missed by my family and all who knew him.
