David Lafevers was born to Anna Mae and James Gabriel Lafevers on July 20, 1950 in Loyall, Kentucky. He was their last child and the beloved younger brother of Ann and Danny. His family left Kentucky when he was a child and relocated to Orlando, Florida. David graduated from Rollins College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and immediately began working for Hormel Foods. He spent his entire career of 37 years and was a true company man. He was blessed to work alongside his brother in law Ronnie and his best friends Kevin and Ron for most of those years. The people at Hormel were a second family and he kept in touch with many colleagues who had become dear friends even after retirement. David also served in the National Guard Army for 20 years and Retired in 1989 as a SGT First Class.
David was blessed with a large and loving family. He was married to Priscilla (Beard) Lafevers for 48 years. They had one daughter, Mindy Lafevers Hodge of Clermont, Florida. In addition, David had two grandchildren, Parker Pounds and Sarah Hodge, both of Clermont, Florida. David was a loving and doting Father and Grandfather and devoted himself to his wife and family. David is also survived by his sister Ann Blankenship and her husband Ron, as well as their daughter Aimee (Blankenship) Maher and her husband Dan of Winter Garden, Florida, as well as their children Ashleigh and Nicholas. In addition, his brother Dan Lafever and his wife Diane of Orlando, Florida, as well as their daughter Erin Lafever-Moore and Mike of Oviedo, Florida Further, he is survived by his brother in law Ellery Beard and his wife Marti of Meridan, Connecticut as well as their children Erik and Kristie Beard of Orlando, Florida and children Kiley and Kaden, Amber (Beard) Trawick and Brad, and children: Kameron, Krystal, Jeremiah, Elizabeth and Gracen, and Kory and Marianna Beard and children Alondra and Ellie as well as greatly anticipated new son, Kole Raulerson, also of Meridan, Connecticut. He was also a proud Uncle and Great Uncle to beloved nieces and nephews, the children and grandchildren of his sister in laws, Elizabeth (Betty) Tanner Adler and Cecelia Mckinnie, who preceded him in death.
David was a collector of friends and valued community and extended family. He was a devoted member of Christ Church of Orlando and considered Pastor Paul Valo not only a shepherd, but an extended family member. The family is grateful for the love and care shown by Pastor Valo.
David enjoyed boating, fishing and golfing and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
A visitation for David will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A celebration of life will follow from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, culminating in a committal with Military honors at 2:15pm.
